FAITH, FREEDOM & THE PROMISE OF ISRAEL
A Christian-Conservative Guide to Understanding Israel
The Christian America First presentation explores how faith, freedom, and national purpose intersect in today’s geopolitical landscape. It examines the shared moral foundations that once united America and Israel — and how those values are now under pressure from within and without. This brief lays out why defending Israel is not a foreign policy favor, but a fight for the very principles that built Western civilization. 1️⃣ WHY ISRAEL MATTERS TO CHRISTIANS?
For Christians, Israel isn’t a foreign issue — it’s living proof that the Bible is true.
Every promise God made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob still stands.
The return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland is not only Jewish history — it’s Scripture fulfilled before our eyes.
When we defend Israel’s right to exist and thrive, we defend the integrity of God’s Word.
And when we stand for Israel’s freedom, we stand for the same Judeo-Christian civilization that built America — faith in God, the sanctity of life, the rule of law, and national sovereignty.
“America First” never meant America alone. It means America anchored in truth, faith, and partnership with those who share our moral foundation.
That’s why Christians and patriots across the country see Israel’s fight as part of our own — a stand for good vs evil, truth vs lies, freedom vs tyranny.

2️⃣ WHO ARE THE JEWISH PEOPLE?
The Jewish people are the world’s oldest continuous faith-based nation.
They descend from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — the same patriarchs honored by Christians. God chose them to carry His Word, record His Scriptures, and reveal His moral law to mankind.
The name Israel comes from Jacob, whom God renamed after wrestling with an angel (Genesis 32:28). For 3,000 years the people of Israel have prayed toward Jerusalem, kept their language, and held fast to their covenant through exile, persecution, and return.
In 1948, after centuries of dispersion, they re-established their nation in the land promised in Scripture.
Today, modern Israel is a democratic state protecting religious freedom for Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike.

3️⃣ WHAT IS ZIONISM?
Zionism is the fulfillment of God’s promise.
It isn’t a political slogan or modern ideology — it is the continuation of a divine covenant that began with Abraham.
When God said, “To your descendants I will give this land” (Genesis 12:7), He established an eternal promise that no empire, exile, or persecution could erase.
For two thousand years Jews were scattered across the earth — yet every Passover and every prayer ended with the same words: “Next year in Jerusalem.”
Zionism is the moment when faith met fulfillment — when the Jewish people, guided by the same God who first called Abraham, came home to the land He gave them.
Zionism isn’t about politics or borders. It is prophecy kept, Scripture confirmed, and God’s Word proven true in history.
It is visible proof that God does not break His promises — that His covenants endure forever.
For Christians, Zionism is not someone else’s story. It is our confirmation that the God of the Bible is alive and faithful.
Every time we see Israel flourish, we’re reminded that the Author of Scripture still governs history.

4️⃣ WHY IS ISRAEL THE JEWISH PEOPLE’S LAND?
Because God said so — and history, archaeology, and law agree.
Biblically:
God’s covenant with Abraham (Genesis 15 & 17) was eternal: “To your descendants I have given this land.”
Prophets foretold exile and return (Jeremiah 30:3; Ezekiel 37).
Historically:
Jews never abandoned the land. Even under Roman, Arab, and Ottoman rule, Jewish life persisted in Jerusalem, Hebron, Tiberias, and Safed.
Legally:
The 1920 San Remo Conference, 1922 League of Nations Mandate, and 1924 Anglo-American Treaty affirmed the Jewish right to re-establish their homeland.
Israel’s existence isn’t colonialism — it’s restoration.

5️⃣ THE CHRISTIAN ROLE IN THE RESTORATION OF ISRAEL
God’s promises were not fulfilled in a vacuum — He used faithful men and women of every generation to bring them to life.
When modern Israel was reborn, it wasn’t only Jewish courage; it was also Christian conviction that Scripture must stand.
The Balfour Declaration (1917), written by Britain’s Foreign Secretary Lord Arthur Balfour, a devout Christian, proclaimed support for “a national home for the Jewish people.”
Balfour said his belief came from the Bible, not politics — he saw his duty as serving prophecy.
At the San Remo Conference (1920), Christian leaders from Britain, France, Italy, and beyond carried that same conviction.
They weren’t motivated by empire or economy; they believed they were chosen to affirm God’s covenant with Israel through the instruments of law.
They saw themselves as participants in prophecy.
Today, new Christian leaders face the same calling.
The challenges are different — media hostility, confusion, and fear — but the mission is unchanged: to stand with Israel as testimony that God’s Word still rules history.
Every pastor, legislator, and believer who speaks truth about Israel walks in the footsteps of Balfour and San Remo’s authors.
They stood for God’s promise in their generation.
We are called to do the same in ours.
“You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.” — Psalm 102:13

6️⃣ WHAT IS JUDEA AND SAMARIA?
Judea and Samaria are the heart of the Bible — where Abraham walked, David ruled, and Jesus was born and crucified.
When Jordan invaded in 1948, it expelled every Jew and renamed the area “the West Bank” to erase its Biblical identity.
Just two decades later, in 1967, Israel reclaimed it, and Jewish life returned to its cradle.
Today, around 600 000 Israelis live in Judea and Samaria — about 7–8 % of Israel’s Jewish population — restoring vineyards and ancient towns.
The region’s mountains overlook Israel’s narrow coastal plain, home to much of the country’s population and its only major international airport, making it vital to Israel’s security and survival.
This is not “occupied territory.” It is the original Bible Belt.

7️⃣ WHY DID THE TWO-STATE IDEA FAIL?
Because the conflict isn’t about borders — it’s about belief.
Every partition plan (1937, 1947, 2000, 2008) was rejected because radical leaders refused any non-Muslim sovereignty in land once conquered by Islam.
The Oslo Process empowered terrorists instead of peacemakers, leading to bombings, Hamas rule in Gaza, and indoctrination of children to hate.
Peace will come not through partition, but through truth: recognizing that Israel’s right to exist comes from the same God who wrote Genesis.

8️⃣ WHY DOES ISRAEL BUILD BARRIERS?
Because life is sacred.
When terrorists bombed buses and restaurants, Israel built barriers to protect its people — Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike.
These fences aren’t political borders; they’re life-saving walls that cut terror attacks by more than 90 %.

9️⃣ FROM A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE — WHO IS ISRAEL?
Romans 11 teaches that believers in Christ are “grafted in” to Israel’s covenant.
Christians don’t replace Israel; they join the family of faith rooted in Israel’s story.
To bless Israel is to bless the root of our own faith: “I will bless those who bless you.” (Genesis 12:3)
Defending Israel reaffirms belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — declaring that His promises still stand.

🔟 WHY DO SOME IN THE ARAB WORLD OPPOSE ISRAEL?
Because under classical Islamic law (Sharia), land once conquered by Muslims is considered waqf — a sacred trust that can never be surrendered to non-Muslim rule.
The Hanafi jurist al-Sarakhsi wrote in al-Mabsut (11th century):
“It is not permitted to return any part of the land of Islam to the rule of unbelievers, for that would be a diminution of Islam.”
The 14th-century scholar Ibn Taymiyyah, often cited by modern Islamists, declared:
“Any land which was once in the possession of Muslims must remain part of the House of Islam. If the enemy takes it, jihad must continue until it returns.”
According to these rulings, the territory of Israel — ruled by Muslim caliphates for centuries — cannot legitimately be recognized as a sovereign Jewish state.
That’s why even “moderate” Arab governments have historically avoided full recognition: under orthodox Sharia, acknowledging Israel’s legitimacy would violate divine law.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly stressed that peace requires Arabs to recognize Israel as the Jewish state, precisely because doing so would expose this theological barrier.
Their refusal reveals that the conflict is not about borders or settlements but about a doctrinal belief that Jewish sovereignty itself contradicts Islam.
Some reform-minded Muslim and Arab leaders are now challenging these medieval doctrines — the Abraham Accords show that change is possible — but the core issue remains spiritual, not territorial.

1️⃣1️⃣ WHY DO PEOPLE SAY “PALESTINE” INSTEAD OF ISRAEL?
Rome tried to erase Jewish identity in 135 CE by renaming the land Syria Palaestina.
The PLO and Soviet propagandists revived that tactic in the 1960s to delegitimize Israel.
Before 1948 “Palestinian” usually meant Jewish: the Palestine Post, Palestine Philharmonic, and Jewish Agency for Palestine were all Jewish institutions.

1️⃣2️⃣ WHAT IS ANTI-ZIONISM?
Anti-Zionism is not just antisemitism — it is a call against the Bible itself.
To oppose Zionism is to reject the very Word of God that promises the Land of Israel to the Jewish people.
From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture affirms that God’s covenant with Israel is eternal.
Those who deny the Jewish return to their homeland are not only attacking a nation — they are challenging the truth of God’s own promises.
That’s why the loudest anti-Zionist voices fall into three groups:
- Islamists, who reject the Bible’s authority and claim a later revelation replaced it;
- Secular ideologues, who reject God altogether; and
- Replacement theologians, who teach that the Church has supplanted Israel — contradicting Paul’s warning in Romans 11: “Do not boast against the branches.”
Anti-Zionism is therefore more than politics; it is spiritual defiance — rebellion against the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and against the truth of His unchanging Word.

1️⃣3️⃣ WHY “AMERICA FIRST” PATRIOTS STAND WITH ISRAEL
Because Israel and America were both founded on the same truth:
freedom is not granted by governments — it is endowed by the Creator.
The Founding Fathers did not invent a new moral order; they reaffirmed an ancient one.
From Genesis to Sinai, they drew on the Bible as the source of liberty, law, and human dignity.
John Adams wrote, “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity.”
James Madison declared, “We have staked the whole future of American civilization not on the power of government, but upon the capacity of each of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”
George Washington warned in his Farewell Address that “religion and morality are indispensable supports” to freedom.
America was thus conceived as a covenantal nation — a people under God, building a republic of ordered liberty upon Biblical foundations.
That is why America prospered, and why the world took notice.
Nations saw a civilization shaped by Scripture and sought to emulate it.
The Western world’s ideas of equality, justice, and human rights all flowed from the Sinai revelation — the moment when Moses received the divine law that transformed human history.
Israel represents the same covenantal truth at its source.
Its rebirth in 1948 was not just a national event; it was the restoration of the world’s original moral blueprint.
The covenant at Sinai — where heaven’s law confronted the empires of men — was the first true new world order: one rooted not in human power, but in divine authority.
That same moral revolution still threatens every false god and ideology — from jihadism to Marxism, from radical secularism to modern woke totalitarianism.
They all share one aim: to erase the God of Sinai and replace Him with the state, the mob, or the self.
So when Israel is attacked, it is not merely Israel that is under assault — it is the very civilization founded on the Word of God.
It is the same flame that lit Mount Sinai and guided America’s founders.
Standing with Israel is standing with the moral DNA of freedom itself.
“America First” and “Israel Forever” are not competing ideas.
They are twin pillars of the same truth:
that the Bible, not tyranny, defines reality — that liberty comes from God — and that those who bless Israel bless the very covenant upon which America was born.
